Beauty Review: Giella Custom Blend Cosmetics

Each of us should be able to optimize our appearance using our natural features and colors. Skin, eyes and hair combine to create a basic palette on which we can create the image we desire. The GIELLA Philosophy is to guide clients through the process of selecting and applying the perfect combination of products to achieve that image.

Our skin is the most visible element of our palette, it frames our eyes, shapes our face and compliments our hair color. Our skin is the starting point of image design. Selecting just the right tone, texture, color and clarity, along with creating suppleness and radiance is possible within the GIELLA family of products. Using our lips, eyes and skin to their optimum advantage is possible only when the complete image is studied. GIELLA does not propose to limit one’s choices in imagery, but to aid in creating customized palettes based on personal traits. This is GIELLA.

GIELLA does not test on animals, and stands behind its products as the finest quality available in the industry. Their products are all non-comedogenic (non-pore clogging), fragrance free, and allergy free.

(Giella Liquid Foundation, $48)

Giella sent me a few items to test out and see what I thought about them. I was sent the Giella liquid foundation custom blended to my skin concerns in a glass bottle with pump which is the most hygenic in my opinion. The foundation’s consistency isn’t thick and spreads easily and quickly. You can build up the coverage but it’s not needed as my particular foundation is full coverage. It has a slight white shimmer that I had added to the product to create a illusion of glowing skin which I love. You can order it without shimmer if you don’t want that effect. It feels light and natural on my skin, not heavy at all. It contains sunscreen so I feel safe from the UV rays outdoors this summer. The shade fit my skin tone perfectly and I like how many options are available. You can mix colors to get your ideal shade if you want but my shade blended seamlessly. **** 4/5 Highly Recommend.

(Giella Eye M Glam, $35)

Next I received Giella’s second most popular product, Mario Dedivanovic Eye M Glam highlighter. Mario is the makeup artist behind longtime celebrity client Kim Kardashian. This is the gem out of all of Giella’s products for me. It’s a versatile sheer product that gives a golden glow. It’s light, silky, and can be applied anywhere on the face. I used it to highlight my cheekbones, arches of my brow bone, and cupid’s bow above my lip. +++++ 5/5 Must Have

(Giella Nail Enamel in Natallia, $25)

Giella’s custom blend nail enamel is formaldehyde and toluene free, fast-drying but not long-lasting. Selections of pink/fuchsia, neutral, coral/orange, red, plum and brown are grouped in light, medium and deep and golden tones. Custom matches are available too if you live in New York, visit Hendri Bendel. I chose the color Natallia which is a pretty matte nude colour which I showed here in another post & here. It’s a gorgeous shade but I wasn’t too happy with how long it lasted. It chipped off my nails within a day or so. I do like how it’s pigmented and you can go without a second coat if you choose. +++ 3/5.
Final Thought: Giella Cosmetics is a favorite of many celebs, and makeup artists have been raving about their company for quite some time. All of the products are made well and I don’t have negative thoughts on Giella. The nail enamel is okay, great colour options but the lasting power wasn’t up to my expectations.
