Go Buy Now: Replace Your Hand Cream & Facial Oil With Grown Alchemist

Grown Alchemist Hand Cream

It’s pretty remarkable to reflect on how much the natural beauty market has transformed over the past five years—namely that five years ago, the market was a fraction of what it is today. You can walk into any Sephora, Target, or even Walgreens and find a green beauty product you’ll love. Now brands like Grown Alchemist are raising the bar with smart packaging, chic, and downright covetable products.

Grown Alchemist is founded by Keston and Jeremy Muijs and is based in North Melbourne, Australia. Grown Alchemist are the new generation of organic skin, body, and haircare formulations. Natural technologies and transformative botanical ingredients—including collagen- and elastin-boosting actives, advanced peptides, hyaluronic acid, and powerful antioxidants—make it not only preferable but also possible to achieve real beauty results without harmful chemicals. Grown Alchemist motto is: “Regenerating beauty with superior results,” and I couldn’t agree more. Le Petit Mondea’s favorite GA picks are the lightly-scented Persian Rose hand cream that immediately absorbs without feeling greasy, and the Anti-Oxidant Facial Oil that includes bio active nutrients to stimulate the natural process of renewal and regeneration- it reduces wrinkles naturally!

Grown Alchemist Antioxidant Serum
(Grown Alchemist Antioxidant Facial Oil, $44)

Grown Alchemist’s ultra-clean formulas don’t just look (and smell) great. By marrying quality-sourced, highly potent plant-based ingredients they made it their M.O. to prove that natural products actually work better than synthetic-laden formulas. The hand cream does what it claims to do, it deeply hydrates without being heavy or leaving my hands greasy so I can move on to the next thing. Plus the scent is amazing, it’s light, floral, and not at all overpowering. The Anti-Oxidant Facial Oil has an uplifting aroma, it also absorbs well without leaving my face shiny. I like using a product that’s natural/botanical that prevents wrinkles, in the long-term I know I’m doing something great for my skin.

The Shimmer Oil that’s Permanently Extending my Summer Glow

Luxcey Zoé Or - Huile Sublime

(Luxcey Zoé Or – Huile Sublime, $90)

You already moisturize when you get out of the shower, why not try a shimmer body oil? My vampire-esq pale skin needed a little help recently so I tried something new and I’m currently obsessed over Luxcey’s all natural Zoé Or – Huile Sublime. It’s a hydrating body oil that gives the illusion of glowing skin with a finely-milled mica shimmer that slightly illuminates all while nourishing deeply with repairing Macadamia Nut Oil and firming Rosehip oil. It’s pretty amazing, a multitasker for covering superficial imperfections and creating a lustrous glow, which can be used in hair or on cheekbones for added highlight.

The scent is something special, it’s enticing and very unique. It’s a blend of fruits, flowers and spice extracts plus essential oils and flower infused. And I love the fact that Zoé Or – Huile Sublime is free of parabens, phtalates, sulfates, fillers, gluten, animal testing, mineral oils, and petroleum. This is my new summer skin care ritual.

Your New Skincare Must: Glycolic Acid

Beauty Rx Progressive Peel

(BeautyRx Progressive Peel, $69.95)

In “natural” #green skincare, there is plenty of talk about not putting chemicals on your skin. I don’t want to leave out the importance of using a great acid for exfoliation and anti-aging, and one of the best is glycolic acid. This acid is highly effective and can take you one step closer to perfect skin. It targets fine lines, brown spots, adult acne, enlarged pores, and can visually smooth the texture of the skin. Glycolic acid is more gentle because it has the smallest molecules which are able to penetrate your skin deeply and yield stronger results, including regenerating collagen.

Two great products I recommend that contain glycolic acid are from BeautyRx, which evolved from the board-certified dermatologist Dr. Neal Schultz, who for the last 30 years has maintained a thriving medical practice, Park Avenue Skin Care, on the Upper East Side of New York City. The Progressive Peel is a six week system that’s gentle yet delivers results super fast. I noticed my pores looking smaller by week two, a few breakouts I had cleared up, and my skin glowed my week four. And absolutely no irritation I get from retinoids. I recommend this peel if you’re new to the game of peels or looking for a refresher.

BeautyRx Gentle Exfoliating Eye Cream
(BeautyRx Gentle Exfoliating Eye Cream, $60)

I also have been using BeautyRx Gentle Exfoliating Eye Cream. An exfoliating eye cream, what? Too good to be true? Actually it isn’t. I wanted to wait a full three weeks of using it before reviewing and I’m telling you- go buy it now! The price is a little high but it’s worth it. It should be in stock at Sephora or Ulta because it’s that good if not better than most eye creams I’ve tried. It hasn’t irritated my skin, it’s made is smoother and brighter. My under eye circles don’t appear as prominent, and have faded slightly and that’s good enough for me.

2 Different Approaches To Body Care with Yuni | Mindful Beauty

(Yuni Rise & Chill, $35 | Yuni Wind-Down Wonder, $35)

YUNI is the first natural high performing beauty brand that is sustainable, convenient, and most importantly, a Yoga-inspired beauty brand. The products create a distinct and memorable experience – the “anchoring” moment with the product – including tactile and olfactory sensations, through the use of high-performance botanicals, unique aroma blends, cooling or warming effects and nature-powered ingredients. Formulated exclusively with natural aromas, YUNI is a fantastic brand to explore if you’re looking for non-toxic, plant-based, mindful body care options that are free of parabens, formaldehyde, petrolatum, SLS or anything questionable.

With the array of aromatic body oils we feature on Le Petit Mondea I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to feature Yuni for you guys. Even though they are labeled gels they are actually oils and are complete game changers. They are light-weight, and by light-weight I’m talking spray on and you’ll be downstairs out the door in morning rush-hour 10 minutes early, maybe 15. My favorite is the Wind-Down Wonder Warming Body Oil for its soothing and and warming treat to my muscles, thanks to the Copaiba, Inca, and Paracress Plant and the sensorial experience from aromatic blend of Bergamot, Cardamom, and Palmarosa to dissolve the stresses of the day.

Yuni 2
(Yuni Wind-Down Wonder, $35 | Yuni Rise & Chill, $35)

The Rise & Chill is the opposite sister it can cool, hydrate, and energize and is ideal for morning or as a pre or post-workout refresh. I think this is perfect and just in time for summer, when it’s hot outside-you’re laying by the pool and you need a quick refresh or you have a sunburn and the Aloe Vera, Peppermint, and Green Tea Extracts would instantly revive skin and active cooling from menthol in Peppermint would calm and reduce discomfort. Aloe Vera base acts as an inflammatory and soothing agent.

Get To Know Amy Chang Editor-in-Chief & Founder of BOND EN AVANT

Amy Chang of Bond En Avant

(Amy Chang of BOND EN AVANT)

Amy Chang is the founder and editor of BOND EN AVANT. A luxury beauty and lifestyle blog founded in 2016 and dedicated to thoughtful reviews, inspiring female stories, and showcasing brands that uplift women.

The lady’s super talented instagram feed @bondenavant has got me fixed to to screen, waiting for her next post. Get to to know the mega-babe below.

What made you decide to start BOND EN AVANT?
When I was in high school, I used to walk across the street from my neighborhood to the local grocery store and buy Harper’s Bazaar. Vogue always felt too inaccessible to me, too mature, but there was something about Harper’s I always loved. As I got older I continued to read Harper’s and I loved that each month they would have towards the back one in-depth editorial piece on the latest in skincare: lasers, peels, facelifts, etc. I always found it so interesting and I wished that I could read an entire magazine or platform with this type of content.
So, when I decided that I didn’t want to work in PR anymore and wanted to do my own thing, I decided to create a beauty blog dedicated to what I wanted to read – in-depth articles on plastic surgery, cosmetic treatments, and luxury skincare – on a platform that’s sophisticated, chic and geared towards a younger audience, like myself.
Why did you get involved in skincare?
Recently, when I turned thirty my parents made a scrapbook for me with drawings I had done when I was in grade school. There are crayon drawings in there of me drawing myself with perfume bottles and applying makeup! I even asked Santa Claus one year, while at a family friend’s holiday party, for my own bathroom! So safe to say I’ve always loved beauty!
When I was 19 years old I got a job working at a Shiseido counter and it deepened my knowledge about products, makeup application and skincare rituals. Then, when I turned twenty I started to get cystic hormonal acne. It was a nightmare for years! As I tried to to solve my skin issues, it took me down the skincare rabbit hole even deeper. I learned more and more about lasers, peels, and facials. I became so obsessed with skincare and I still am to this day even though, thankfully, now my skin doesn’t break out like it used to.
If you had to choose one, which skincare/beauty product would you not be without?
I did a round of Accutane when I was in my early twenties and am now paying the price for it with extremely dry skin, so moisture is essential to my skincare routine. It’s so hard to pick just one, but right now, I would have to say I can’t live without Lotus Moon’s Cherry Blossom Healing Soothe. Aside from being natural and made with organic ingredients, it has willowherb in it which is naturally anti inflammatory and soothing. It has been proven to work as effectively as 1% hydrocortisone at reducing inflammation and it’s natural!
What do you especially want people to know about BOND EN AVANT?
I want BOND EN AVANT to help women realize that if you want to lean into your vanity, if you want to get botox or laser or labiaplasty (which is one of the fastest growing procedures in 2016), or buy yourself a luxurious face cream that you can without judgement. I think there’s power in a woman’s right to choose for herself how she wants to look, age and be, and that’s what BOND EN AVANT is all about. Empowering women to lean into their vanity if they want to.
What do you think is the biggest misconception with the typical luxury consumer thinks about green products?
I think some consumers still think that green products aren’t as efficacious than traditional beauty, but that misconception is changing fast. There are SO many beautiful, luxurious and highly efficacious green beauty brands out there now that are changing the green beauty landscape. Susanne Kaufmann, Kjaer Weis, Lina Hanson, MayaChia, and Therapi Honey Skincare are a few to put on your radar, if they aren’t already!
Where do you see BOND EN AVANT 5 years from now?
At the end of this month BOND EN AVANT will be one year old! I’ve learned so much this past year and I can only imagine all of the things I hope to learn over the next five! I really want to just continue bringing BOND EN AVANT readers fun, interesting, insightful articles.
I am working on expanding the content. Coming in April there will be a nutritionist writing awesome, healthy skin supporting recipes and an esthetician coming on board to answer all of your questions in “Ask An Aesthetician.”
In five years from now, I hope to still be learning, growing and making BOND EN AVANT better for the readers every day.
Who inspires you in your work?
There are two podcasts that I listened to a lot the past couple of years, The School of Greatness and Girlboss. Both interview really inspiring entrepreneurs or experts in their field, from Tony Robins the motivational speaker to Payal Kadakia the founder of ClassPass. I’ve drawn so many insights from these interviews, like the power of visualization, meditation, planning and making goals. I can’t really single out one person, but collectively there have been so many inspiring people I’ve listened to on these podcasts. I suggest you check them out!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
It’s not so much advice, but there is a quote from Meryl Streep that I just love where she says, “It’s amazing what you can get when you quietly, clearly and authoritatively demand it.” I’ve always been a people pleaser and there were times I didn’t speak up for what I wanted or deserved, and I missed out on many things. But now that I’m older,  I refuse to go through life like that anymore. Now, I always keep this quote in the back of my mind and ask confidently for what I want. It’s made me so much happier with myself and life.

Squeaky-Clean Skin & Antioxidant Protection With Biossance’s New Product

Biossance Antioxidant Cleansing Oil

(Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil, $30)

Looking for a daily facial cleansing oil that effortlessly dissolves long-wear makeup and impurities while leaving skin clean, moisturized and smooth? Then look no further than Biossance’s Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil. It’s formulated with 100 percent plant-derived squalane and hemisqualane, this soothing cleansing oil easily removes even the toughest long-wear makeup with a non-toxic formula and sustainable ingredients. But what makes this product stand out is the antioxidant protection. Antioxidants protect skin by limiting the production of free radicals, which can damage skin cells. Antioxidants in skin care products can do a lot for the health and appearance of your skin, including reducing the signs of aging. From calming inflamed skin to tightening and toning, antioxidants offer great benefits from natural sources.

Biossance Squalane Antioxidant Cleansing Oil 2
(Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil, $30)

  1. Anti-inflammation: One of the most desirable benefits of antioxidants in skin-care products is the calming of inflammation. Reducing inflammation promotes more even skin tone and helps keep acne and wrinkles at bay.
  2. Skin firming: Another top benefit of antioxidant skin care is skin firming. Antioxidants may actually reverse the effects of aging by improving skin health and rejuvenating its appearance.
  3. Reduced appearance of wrinkles: Although it is nearly impossible to make wrinkles disappear, skin-care products with antioxidants can help plump out the skin and make it appear more youthful. Most antioxidants are great for reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, but vitamins C and E are especially beneficial.
  4. Repair of sun damage: We all know that too much sun is dangerous, but it can also be bad for your skin’s appearance, drying it out and damaging cells. Sun damage can make skin appear tough and wrinkly. Antioxidants that stimulate blood flow in the skin can help encourage the growth of new cells and make sun-damaged skin appear younger. Many antioxidant-rich beauty products are available for treating sun damage, including cleansers like Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil and moisturizers that you can use on your entire body.

At the Circle of Anti-Aging Beauty with Mun Skin

Mun Skin Care Review

(Mun Akwi Purifying Cleanser | Mun Anarose Rose Toner | Mun Ayour Body Serum | Mun Aknari Brightening Serum | Mun Argan Oil, Travel Set: $75)

Revisiting my favorite serum and a few new favorites from the natural skincare brand Mun. This brand might look familiar to you, I raved about Mun Skin way back in 2012. Mun is still carries my all-time favorite serum, now called Aknari Brightening Serum and switched from infusing Moroccan Rose to Bulgarian Rose in their products. “Aknari is Berber for Prickly Pear, the defining ingredient in the precious elixir. I love the meanings of each product, Mun is pronounced ‘Moon’. The brand works with Berber women’s coop to source Prickly Pear Seed, Argan, and Olive oil, so Mun Skin wanted to honor them.

Confession, I.. Alyssa have an exploratory obsession with Rose scented beauty products and fragrances. Especially authentic rose, and in particular Bulgarian Rose scented products. It actually started with the first rose product I ever tried, Mun’s Aknari Brightening Serum. It was this sensory experience that kicked off my quest to find more rose scented products. But besides the unbelievable aroma, Aknari contains Prickly Pear Seed Oil and Argan oil which together are age-defying and brightening. Packed with antioxidants and essential fatty acids, the serum is lightweight and never looks greasy. In tandem these oils will have your skin looking soft and wrinkle-free in the long term.

Mun Skin Care Review 2
(Akwi Purifying Cleanser, $60)

The Akwi Purifying Cleanser, Akwi for “awakening”, an apt name for an invigorating balm that brings the skin to life. This oil-based pH balanced cleanser uses Castor oil, Argan oil, Camellia Seed oil, and Rice Bran oil to sweep away impurities without stripping the skin of essential moisture. All while providing antioxidant, anti-aging, and moisturizing benefits. It’s especially effective at dissolving makeup and one pump of product comes out as a white, lightweight cream. As I apply it and begin to massage the skin it turns into a clear balm that looks like a gel but feels creamy and soothing. Starting with dry skin and dry hands, I like to dispense about 8-10 pumps of product into the palm of my hands, which is more than enough to cover my entire face. I keep adding water as needed, and then I grab a clean face towel and  start to remove whatever is left on the skin. The scent is enjoyable–fresh and uplifting, which is the reason behind its name, Akwi.

Continuing with Mun’s complete ant-aging line that includes the Akwi Purifying Cleanser all the way to a body serum. The Anarose Hydrating Toner, Anarose meaning “hope”, this multi-tasking toner safe for every skin type. Infused with hydrating Aloe Vera, soothing and anti-bacterial Rose Water, and exfoliating Willow Bark extract, this formula will become your go-to toner. Especially since there are tons and tons of toners on the market, it can be hard to choose which is right for you. But with Anarose, it doesn’t contain harsh and aging alcohol like most toners. You’ll reach for it time and time again.

Full list of ingredients:

  • Rose Water*
  • Aloe Leaf Juice*
  • Prickly Pear Stem Extract
  • Goji Berry Fruit Extract
  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Willow Bark Extract* (Natural Salicylic Acid)
  • Rose Flower Extract
  • Jasmine Flower Extract
  • Daisy Flower Extract
  • Xanthan Gum
  • Glycerin
  • Dehydroatic Acid
  • Benzyl Alcohol
  • Maltodextrin
  • Deionized Water

Mun Skin care Review 3

Mun Ayour Body Toning Serum, “Ayour” is berber for moon, a play on the name of founder Munemi Imai. This powerful treatment for the body softens, smooths and tones the skin. The silky, fast-absorbing formula is enriched with Moroccan Olive Oil, a highly effective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that brightens and evens out skin tone. Combined with Cucumber Seed Oil, it works to fight free radicals. Together, Rosehip Seed Oil and Prickly Pear Seed Oil minimize the appearance of stretch marks and wrinkles. Lavender, Neroli and Frankincense soothe skin and provide anti-aging benefits. This fast-absorbing serum leaves the skin moisturized and silky-soft. Effective for all skin types. The scent is subtle, rare even, and unique. A body serum that’s silky and skin-quenching, plus has aromatherapy benefits that create a calming, relaxed vibe- what could be better?

Fragrance Spotlight: Viva La Juicy Sucré

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Sucre Review

(Viva La Juicy Sucré Eau de Parfum Spray, 3.4 oz, $96)

There is a new fragrance that’s hit the shelves from Juicy Couture and it’s their most openly gourmand fragrance to date: Viva La Juicy Sucré; “sucré” means « sweetened » in French…

” Sumptuous and feminine, the mouthwatering fragrance tempts even the most disciplined to live in the moment. Deny yourself nothing. “

The gourmand fruity-floral has top notes of Brazilian gardenia, mandarin and red currant; the scent segues into a heart of orange blossom, jasmine flower, peach nectar and almond cream; the base is rich like cake, batter, with notes of cocoa bean, sandalwood, whipped cream and vanilla extract.

To entice your tastebuds visually, the design of the flacon takes inspiration from a cupcake. If you ever dreamt of inhaling a pastry instead of eating it, here’s another opportunity to do it, guilt-free.

The wear is quite good at around 5 hours with a nice linger and a little bit of a mellowing of the fragrance as at around hour four it loses some of it’s initial sweetness and gives way to more vanilla.

If Viva la Juicy isn’t sweet enough for you I doubt Sucre will disappoint. This takes sugar and sweetness to a way higher level. The scent is girlish, youthful, with plenty of cuteness thrown in.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Sucre Review 2
(Viva La Juicy Sucré Eau de Parfum Spray, 3.4 oz, $96)

And if you start to feel a little guilty for shelling out for that extravagant perfume you’ve had your eye on, there is a legitimate reason to back up that purchase.

For one thing, unlike most beauty products, perfumes don’t really have an expiration date (barring how quickly you go through a bottle, of course). Just be sure to store scents in cabinets away from direct exposure to sunlight or humid environments.
