From Angelina Jolie’s signature soft smile to Kylie Jenner’s pillow-y pucker, full lips will always be on trend. But contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to go to extreme measures in order to get a similar look. Faking a full lip is really just about accentuating the natural perimeter of your lips with the right tools and techniques. Use our step-by-step guide to fake a natural, fuller pout.
Using Bite Beauty’s Lip Pencil, an artisanal tool with high precision texture that defines the lip line and is a perfect all-over, opaque lip color. Apply the lip liner in a shade closest to your natural lip shade as a base to help create a little definition. We chose shade 020 Neutral. Take the pencil and curve it around your Cupid’s bow and trace outside the borders of your bottom lip to create the perception of a fuller pout.
After you’ve lined the outside of your lips, fill them in to create a base that’ll help your lipstick last longer. This helps to ensure that your lips will still look natural by not applying liner too far outside of your lips.
Apply a nude lipstick that matches the liner to both your top and bottom lip. We suggest Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche’s lipstick in Honeycomb, make sure to apply an even amount of coverage. If you need to, take a napkin and blot it out. Take a flat lip brush to fully blend the lip liner and lipstick for an even look.
It sounds weird–but bronzer or highlighter is a key step. Take your lip brush and apply a tiny bit of bronzer under your lip. This tricks the eye into thinking the lip is naturally full.
And Voilà! You’ve got yourself a set of full, natural lips.
